Uttar Pradesh tops in mopping up through taxes

Uttar Pradesh leads all states in tax collection, reaching ₹1.5 lakh crore between April and July of the current fiscal year. While Haryana saw the highest growth, Uttar Pradesh got the most tax revenue overall. Better compliance and many new registrations helped states earn more money despite recent tax rate cuts.
