Indian farmers are not only food providers, but also power producers.

The PM-KUSUM scheme benefited 21,77,369 farmers as on December 31, 2025. Farmers now use solar pumps to cut diesel use and sell surplus power to the grid. This initiative helps them become power producers. The government said, "I feel very gratified at this national achievement and whatever contribution my company has."
