Bangladesh's gas crisis hits factories, homes and transport

Bangladesh’s Ashuganj fertiliser factory closed in March 2025 due to an acute natural gas shortage. This crisis hit hundreds of textile factories, triggered power cuts, and disrupted household gas supplies. Worker Md Bazlur Rashid said, "Only the skeleton of the factory remains. It has lost its life." Production remains stalled.
