Why Japan is launching its first new intelligence agency since WWII

Japan is launching the National Intelligence Bureau this Friday to fix its disjointed security system. Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi said, “These measures are merely the first step in intelligence reform.” The new agency will collect data from various ministries to better handle global threats and stop spy activity in Japan.
