Pacific island nation Nauru officially changes name to 'Naoero'

The Pacific island nation of Nauru officially changed its name to the Republic of Naoero. President David Adeang said, "It is already the identity of the people." Parliament passed a constitutional amendment in May for this shift. The government notified other countries, and the transition process is now under way.
