European Union says necessary to monitor high risk AI systems after OpenAI, Anthropic AI hacking incidents

European Commission officials said on Friday that AI developers must monitor systems for security risks after hacking incidents at OpenAI and Anthropic. These events happened just before Europe’s AI Act starts. An official said, "all these incidents highlight the importance of really putting in place the necessary monitoring activities."
