Black holes may spit out nearly as much matter as they swallow

New observations of the black hole system Swift J1727.8−1613 show it spits out nearly as much matter as it swallows. Dr. Noel Castro Segura said, "Matter falls in, the system processes it, and a surprising amount is expelled again." This 2023 eruption showed black holes act like cosmic digestive systems.
