An AI-designed enzyme edited rice DNA. Is this Indian farming's future?

Scientists at the ICAR-National Rice Research Institute in Cuttack used an AI-designed enzyme to edit rice DNA. Dr. Kutubuddin Ali Molla said, "There was a real scientific tension in the lab back then." This breakthrough, using the OpenCRISPR-1 tool created in 2025, marks a new path for Indian farming.
