Lethal irradiation helps cell therapy succeed in treating osteogenesis imperfecta. Researchers said, "Lethal irradiation remained the most effective pretreatment for SSPCs engraftment." They found that changing the bone marrow environment allows donor cells to grow better. High bone turnover also helped these cells form healthy bone in the mice models.
