External affairs minister S. Jaishankar attended Asean conferences in Manila in late July. India now uses these meetings as the diplomatic fulcrum of its Indo-Pacific engagement. Mr. Jaishankar said, "Asean is the centrepiece of a free, open, inclusive and rules-based Indo-Pacific." India also prioritises maritime security and resilient supply chains.
