Assam flood toll reaches 80, over two lakh people affected

The Assam flood toll reached 80 after two more deaths, officials said on Friday (July 31, 2026). Over two lakh people across eight districts got affected by the deluge. Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said, "The SLBC decided that a moratorium of six months will be offered to all flood-affected people."
