PCMC suspends fire officer over Moshi garbage depot tragedy, orders departmental probe

The Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation suspended fire officer Rushikant Hiraman Chipade on July 28 following a deadly building collapse. Nine people died at the Moshi garbage depot on July 8. Officials said Chipade showed negligence by issuing a fire certificate for an unauthorized structure. A departmental inquiry is now underway against him.
