An earthquake with a magnitude of 6.8 hit Japan near Kumamoto city on Tuesday, July 28, 2026. At least 28 people died as rescue teams searched for survivors. Many houses lost power and water, while 10,467 people got evacuated. Soldiers started rescue work after a shopping mall collapsed during the disaster.
