IMD warns of flash flood risk across central India as monsoon intensifies

The India Meteorological Department on Wednesday issued a flash flood risk warning for parts of Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, and Odisha. The alert stays in effect until 11:30 am on 30 July. Heavy rainfall could trigger surface runoff in low-lying areas, as the monsoon intensifies across much of central India.
