Authorities sounded a flood alert along the Godavari and Sabari riverbanks in Polavaram district. Heavy rainfall in Chhattisgarh, Odisha and Maharashtra caused high inflows. Officials said, "Inflows into Sabari and Godavari are expected to rise." Control rooms got set up for help, and all tourist spots are now closed.
