Australia built a $187,000 electric fence across Wild Horse Plain to protect rare alpine wetlands. The barrier covers 108 hectares of endangered sphagnum bogs. Officials said the fence keeps wild horses away, as their weight causes trampling and soil damage. This project helps save fragile habitats for many threatened native species.
