Ambuja Cements Q1 net profit down 37% as sales volume slips

Ambuja Cements reported a 37% drop in consolidated net profit to ₹660 crore for the fiscal first quarter. Sales volume fell 7% as higher fuel costs hit margins. Chief executive Vinod Bahety said, "Our strategy remains clear and consistent, creating sustainable value ahead of volume," as the company eyes future growth.
