Pat Conroy walks back US submarine ‘eviction notice’

Defence Industry Minister Pat Conroy said on July 30, 2026, that there is no time limit on US nuclear submarines at HMS Stirling. He clarified that the American presence could continue indefinitely after 2032. Conroy said, “I would expect the US to have an ongoing submarine presence in HMS Stirling.”
