The Philippines uses 164 million plastic sachets daily, causing massive waste issues. In July 2024, councillor Khate Nolasco started Tingi Tindahan in Malabon City to offer plastic-free refills. Nolasco said, "Even if we collect waste every day, it feels never-ending." This shop helps locals reuse jars for soy sauce and oil.
