An Acharya Nagarjuna University study found 29 of 73 trees on the Guntur road widening stretch can be transplanted. The remaining 44 trees are unsuitable for relocation due to termite damage. Municipal Commissioner K. Mayur Ashok said, "The civic body was committed to protecting the city’s green cover by relocating."
