Assam eyes IIT Guwahati fix for riverbank erosion after widespread flood damage

Assam chief minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said on Sunday that he would engage experts from IIT-Guwahati to fix riverbank erosion. He promised compensation for families hit by floods. Sarma said, "I will soon meet experts from IIT-G to find a lasting solution." The state lost much land since 1950.
