10 coastal districts put on alert as Hirakud water reaches Mundali

The state government put 10 coastal districts on alert as Hirakud dam water reached Mundali barrage on Sunday morning. Officials said Sunday night is crucial as huge water volumes pass through the Mahanadi river. Engineer-in-chief Dillip Kumar Rout said, “Maximum flow through the Mundali could be around 7 lakh cusec.”
