RBI upper-layer NBFC list to come out soon

The Reserve Bank of India will soon release a list of upper-layer NBFCs. Governor Sanjay Malhotra said, "It is now principle-based. So as per those principles, everyone knows what is the list." Companies in this layer must list their shares. The central bank has not published this list since January 2025.
