E20 petrol row midnight twist: Automakers' association SIAM flags concerns, does U-turn

The Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers withdrew its communication regarding E20 fuel contamination concerns. SIAM said, "Some numbers quoted in the communication need authentication through collection of elaborate data." The body previously flagged issues like chloride contamination and moisture. Meanwhile, the Petroleum Ministry said OMCs regularly monitor fuel quality.
